A carrier-based aviation unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy has been conducting daytime and nighttime helicopter drills to build up capabilities in handling missions at sea.

In a recent drill, different types of helicopters started in the afternoon and continued till late. The helicopters took off from an airport in the South China Sea and conducted several flight maneuvers before flying to a designated area for drills, including search and rescue and nighttime patrol.
