A grand ceremony to pay tribute to Emperor Yan was held in the city of Gaoping in north China's Shanxi Province on Wednesday. The emperor was a legendary Chinese ruler in pre-dynastic China. Officials from the Chinese mainland attended the ceremony, along with former Kuomintang officials from the Taiwan region, as well as other guests.
