On the morning of May 16, Chinese President Xi Jinping held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is in China on a state visit, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi congratulated Putin and the Russian people on his recent swearing-in as the country's president for a fifth term.
