China and Tajikistan should give full play to their complementary advantages and upgrade pragmatic cooperation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday when meeting with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China is willing to help Tajikistan accelerate the process of industrialization and raise the level of social and economic development.
Wang is on an official visit to Tajikistan and he met with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Saturday in Dushanbe.
China will work with Tajikistan to further raise the trade volume, promote cooperation in mining resources and expand cooperation in emerging areas such as new energy and green transition, he told Muhriddin.
China supports more Chinese-funded companies to invest in Tajikistan and hopes that the Tajik side will provide a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises, he said.
Both countries should continue to firmly support each other in international affairs, jointly safeguard the strategic interests of the two countries and safeguard international justice, he added.
Muhriddin said Tajikistan is ready to work with China to promote cooperation in various fields.
Tajikistan will firmly adhere to the one-China principle, he said, adding that his country is willing to jointly implement the Global Security Initiative with China and address security challenges together.
Tajikistan attaches importance to coordination and cooperation with China in the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as well as the China-Central Asia mechanism, he added.
