With 2024 marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, a unique Sino-French choir concert was recently held in Paris to celebrate the friendship between the two countries. The performance featured the Wuzhishan Li and Miao Children's Choir from Wuzhishan City in Hainan Province, the French Choeur des Polysons (Polysons Children's Choir) and La chorale Chin'harmonie of the Association Vent d'Orient Vent d'Occident.

The choirs and musicians from the two countries brought a magnificent audiovisual feast to local Chinese and French audiences to celebrate the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations, adding a vibrant touch to the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism.

The French Choeur des Polysons performed an excerpt of a chorus from the classic French opera "Carmen," followed by a song dedicated to China, "If I Go to China," expressing their longing for the beautiful scenery and culture of various parts of China. In response, the Wuzhishan Li and Miao Children's Choir, dressed in exquisite ethnic costumes, sang the original song "Singing Wuzhishan to France" in Chinese and French.

The two choirs jointly performed the Chinese classic "Jasmine Flower," with their harmonious melodies pushing the concert to its climax. The beautiful voices of the Wuzhishan Li and Miao Children's Choir, the French Choeur des Polysons, the "He-Yun" Sino-French Choir, accompanied by young musicians from both China and France showcased the outstanding artistic talents and vibrant spirit of contemporary Chinese and French youth.

Artists and music lovers from China and France, transcending age and language differences, jointly expressed the deep friendship between the peoples of the two countries and their ardent hope for "everlasting Sino-French friendship."

Artists at the event said amidst rapid global changes, France and China should deepen cultural and people-to-people cooperation on existing foundations, and as the two countries continue to engage with each other, their unique cultural perspectives and collaborative efforts can serve as a reference for international relations in the 21st century.
