- A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and other senior officials suffered a "hard landing" in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on Sunday, Iran's state-run IRIB TV reported.
- Iranian Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohsen Mansouri said on Sunday that contact had been established with one of the passengers and one of the crew members aboard the helicopter.
- Rescuers from the Iranian Red Crescent Society, police, army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps have been sent to the scene.
- Russia is sending a team of rescuers while Türkiye on Sunday evening sent a drone to join in the search and rescue operations. The Saudi Foreign Ministry stressed that the kingdom stands by Iran in these difficult times and is ready to provide any assistance it needs.
