The under-construction Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge spans three cities in east China's Jiangsu Province. The project has six world firsts, including its main channel bridge span, main tower height, anchorage volume and high-strength main cable length. The main tower of the bridge is designed to stand at 350 meters, making it the highest suspension bridge tower currently under construction in the world. In order to build such a high bridge tower, a "super crane" XGT15000-600S was "invited" to the construction site in Jingjiang City.
With a lifting capacity of 15,000 tonnes, the XGT15000-600S has completed steel tower lifting operations with a maximum lifting weight of more than 500 tonnes at a height of more than 300 meters. Its role in the construction project is to take the installation of the 350-meter main tower of the bridge to within millimeters of accuracy to become the world's tallest suspension bridge tower.
