In an interview with CGTN, Rong Ying, a senior research fellow at China Institute of International Studies, shed light on Lai Ching-te's recent inauguration speech on the relations between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan region. Rong said the speech may lead to heightened tensions. He also emphasized the significance of the international community in supporting China's efforts toward national reunification.
