The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted joint military drills, codenamed Joint Sword-2024A, around the island of Taiwan from Thursday to Friday. "We are here to conduct a combat readiness patrol mission, and you have no right to interfere," the PLA warned the Taiwan region's FFG-937 ship. "Do not sacrifice yourselves for 'Taiwan independence'; resisting reunification with force is a dead end."
