The People's Liberation Army (PLA) continues the second day of joint military drills around Taiwan island. The drills are conducted both by the PLA and the Coast Guard of Fujian Province. Zhang Junshe, senior captain and former vice president at the Naval Research Institute, says that the exercises form a strong deterrent and warning to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.
