Coinciding with the peak of the solar cycle, a powerful geomagnetic storm struck Earth's magnetosphere from May 10 to May 11, triggered by a coronal mass ejection (CME). This extraordinary event resulted in a dazzling display of crimson auroras and a multitude of meteors in the sky above Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, NW China.
