Heavy rain battered Hefei City in east China's Anhui Province on May 26, with the heavy downpour causing severe flooding on the city's streets and resulting in severe traffic disruption.
The intense downpour, which started on Sunday afternoon, brought an average precipitation level of 78 millimeters within just 20 hours in the downtown area of Hefei, according to the local meteorological department.
