Japanese director Ryo Takeuchi, who now lives in Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province, is a popular blogger in China. In an exclusive interview with CGTN, he discussed his new documentary "The Yangtze River," which opened in Chinese theaters on May 24 and paints a vivid picture of the local customs and everyday life of ordinary people residing along the river. The director believes the lives of ordinary people, including their joys and sorrows, are quite similar in China and Japan, adding that both countries now face the challenge of an aging population.
