The Taiwan region's exclusion from the World Health Organization (WHO) assembly once again demonstrates that the international community's fundamental trend of upholding the one-China principle is unshakable, a mainland spokesperson said on Monday.
"There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory," Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a press conference.
The World Health Assembly (WHA), the highest decision-making body of the WHO, decided on Monday not to include in its agenda a proposal on Taiwan's participation as an observer.
