01:56

Papua New Guinea has informed the United Nations that more than 2,000 people were buried in a massive landslide that swept over a remote village on May 24. Humanitarian organizations are working with the local authorities on relief efforts for people affected.

Nicholas Booth, Resident Representative of the UNDP in PNG, told CGTN that the terrain in the area is unstable and access to the area has been blocked, posing big challenges to the rescue work.
