Chinese weightlifter Li Fabin is stepping up his preparations for the Paris Olympics, where he hopes to defend his title from Tokyo 2020.

During the Tokyo Games, the then debutant Li lifted a clean and jerk Olympic record of 172 kilograms in the men's 61-kg division on his second attempt.

Two years later, Li bagged the World Championships and Asian Games titles to complete a career grand slam.

Li pocketed two more golds in the International Weightlifting Federation World Cup in Phuket, Thailand in April.
