A prison like a grave

03:36

Munther Amira is known across Palestine for his non-violent activism against the Israeli occupation. After the outbreak of fighting on October 7, he was arrested.

"I remember the day the Israeli occupying forces broke in and destroyed our home," he said. "That's when my nightmares began."

Describing his time in prison, he said, "Behind those iron bars, you couldn't resist. I lost all my rights as a human being. That prison felt more like a grave. The giant gates were the gates of hell. I could only pray silently, hoping to survive."
