The Cambodian government officially renamed the Third Ring Road in capital Phnom Penh as "Xi Jinping Boulevard" in honor of the Chinese president at a ceremony on Tuesday, presided over by Prime Minister Hun Manet and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian.

At the ceremony, Hun Manet said that Cambodia-China relations have entered the best period in history.

To thank President Xi for his historic contribution to Cambodia's development, the Cambodian government has decided to name the section of Phnom Penh's Third Ring Road from National Road 1 to National Road 4 as "Xi Jinping Boulevard," which highlights the historical inheritance of the traditional friendship between Cambodia and China, he said.

Wang said at the ceremony that the naming of "Xi Jinping Boulevard" is a new milestone for the bilateral ties.

China is willing to join hands with Cambodia along the golden road of ironclad friendship to open up a brighter and better future for the China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era, he said.

The "Xi Jinping Boulevard" is located in the southern section of Phnom Penh's Third Ring Road, with a total length of about 48 kilometers.
