On May 29, the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, the world honors the dedication of people who have served and continue to serve in UN peacekeeping operations.
As of March, over 62,000 uniformed peacekeepers are deployed across 11 missions worldwide. Among the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, China leads with more than 1,800 peacekeepers deployed in eight missions.
Additionally, China was the second-largest contributor to the UN's peacekeeping budget for the 2020-2021 period.
China's substantial contributions underscore its commitment to global peacekeeping efforts and its growing role in maintaining stability and security worldwide.
