Since October 7, 2023, Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in well over 100,000 people being killed or wounded.

A blockade has caused a shortage of supplies, including medicines, leading to the death of many of those who have been hurt.

"All the hospitals have been attacked. Virtually every medical facility has shut down. The entire emergency response system is paralyzed," said Dr. Moatasem Saeed Salah, director of the Health Emergency Operations Center at the Gaza Ministry of Health. He also mentioned the threat to medical staff. "They've also been viciously attacked," he said. "In all, 492 medical personnel have been killed in the attacks."
