China's economy is projected to grow by 5 percent in 2024 and 4.5 percent in 2025, said Gita Gopinath, first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in a statement after concluding the group's annual Article IV review of the Chinese economy.
Both the projections are 0.4 percentage points higher than the IMF's forecasts in April and are "driven by strong Q1 GDP data and recent policy measures," according to the statement.
An IMF team visited China from May 16 to 28 for the 2024 Article IV Consultation.
