Spanish citizens in the capital Madrid have voiced their support for the government's decision to recognize Palestine as a sovereign state, saying the move will help realize peace in the war-torn Gaza Strip.
Spain officially recognized an independent Palestinian state on May 27 following approval in a Council of Ministers (cabinet) meeting chaired by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
