Tunisia's President Kais Saied arrived in Beijing on Wednesday, marking his first trip to China since taking office. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tunisia. CGTN Stringer recently took to the streets of Tunisia to ask locals about their views on China and the Sino-Tunisian relationship.
"The visit of our president to China is a proud moment for both countries' people. We hope to establish a stable economic relationship with China, which is very beneficial for Tunisia and our economy," local worker Mohamed Boukgalija told CGTN. Retired resident Fatah Khanissi said Chinese people are hardworking and have helped Tunisia build its infrastructure. "We hope to maintain a friendship with China," he said.
