From May 28 to June 1, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was invited to pay a state visit to China and attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. Bahrain is located in the southwestern part of the Persian Gulf, and although it is far away from China, the maritime Silk Road has linked the two countries since as early as the 7th century AD. This year also marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bahrain. King Hamad's state visit to China, his first in 11 years, will be an important milestone in the history of the two countries' relationship.
Recently, CGTN Stringer interviewed several local residents on the streets of Bahrain. In the eyes of these Bahrainis, China is one of the leading countries driving technological revolutions, as well as a nation with a long history and profound cultural heritage. When discussing future cooperation between the two countries, many interviewees expressed high expectations in areas such as technology, trade and industry.
