The Great Mosque of Algiers in Algeria, also known as the Djamaa El-Djazair, is the third largest mosque in the world and the largest in Africa, with a prayer hall that can accommodate 120,000 people. The mosque was built by a Chinese construction company during the 2010s. As an iconic work of architecture in Algeria, the mosque is featured on the country's banknotes.
