South Africa's governing party African National Congress (ANC) had 42.3 percent of the vote after the election commission released results from just over 10 percent of polling stations on Thursday.

More than 27 million voters in South Africa cast their ballots on Wednesday in the country's 2024 general elections to elect a new National Assembly and provincial legislatures.
