Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr on Friday signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement in Stockholm, Sweden.

Under the agreement, Norway will provide around 1.2 billion euro (around $1.31 billion) in military assistance to Ukraine this year. In addition, Norway will contribute significantly to the development of Ukraine's maritime capabilities in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, as well as continue to provide NASAMS systems and related equipment and specialist training, Zelenskyy said.

Ukraine also signed bilateral security agreements with Sweden and Iceland on Friday, as Western nations discuss whether to allow Ukraine to use Western weapons to strike military targets inside Russia that are supporting an offensive on the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.

Zelenskyy was in Stockholm on Friday for the third Nordic summit.
