Chinese and U.S. defense chiefs Dong Jun and Lloyd Austin met on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Friday.
This is the first in-person meeting of the nations' defense ministers since 2022.
The Chinese Defense Ministry said the meeting was positive, practical and constructive. China also said the meeting will help both sides enhance understandings, avoid miscalculations and maintain communication.
