Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun has called for cooperation in safeguarding peace and stability in the Asia- Pacific region. In his speech at the Shangri-la Dialogue in Singapore, Dong reaffirmed China's commitment that it will never seek hegemony or expansion. The Chinese defense minister said countries in the Asia-Pacific region should not allow hegemony or power politics to undermine the region.
