The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) dropped a total of about 15 tonnes of garbage into South Korea from May 28 to June 2, KCNA reported Sunday, citing the country's Vice Defense Minister Kim Kang Il.

The DPRK will temporarily suspend sending balloons carrying trash to South Korea but will resume the act if South sends anti-DPRK leaflets the other way, the report added.

Pyongyang's response came after South Korea on Sunday vowed to take "unendurable" measures against the DPRK with officials saying Seoul is mulling resuming its loudspeaker propaganda campaign across the border.
