China's Chang'e-6 lunar probe has touched down on the far side of the moon. It will collect samples from this rarely explored terrain for the first time in human history. Zhang Fan, associate professor of astronomy at Beijing Normal University, says the far side of the moon is geologically different from the near side. He adds that collecting samples from the far side can inform the formation and history of the moon.
