At least two men on a grounded Philippine military vessel pointed guns at a China Coast Guard (CCG) team patrolling in waters off Ren'ai Jiao on May 19. The personnel on BRP Sierra Madre, a Philippine military vessel that was illegally run aground at China's Ren'ai Jiao in 1999, were receiving an air-drop supply when the CCG responded in accordance with the law. Footage provided by the CCG shows at least two men on BRP Sierra Madre holding rifles and even pointing them in the direction of CCG officers. Despite the Philippines' increasingly aggressive provocations in the South China Sea, China has indisputable sovereignty over Nanhai Zhudao including Ren'ai Jiao and its adjacent waters.
