"Confrontations will follow if China forms an alliance, which would be dangerous not only for China but also for the whole world," said Xu Hui from the Chinese People's Liberation Army National Defense University. Xu emphasized that China views everyone as equals, and doesn't use its partners to serve its own interests. He said that this is the difference between the Chinese partnership system and the American alliance system.
