The Speaker of Georgia's parliament Shalva Papuashvili said he has signed a "foreign influence" bill into law, thus putting it into effect immediately.
"I signed today the law on transparency of foreign influence, whose main goal is to strengthen the sustainability of Georgia's political, economic, and social systems," Papuashvili said in a statement on Monday.
Georgia's parliament passed the law requiring organisations receiving more than 20 percent of their funding from overseas to register as agents of foreign influence.
