China's State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has activated a Level-IV emergency response to flooding, with heavy rainstorms hitting some regions of the country. This round of rainfall was the heaviest in Fengshan County in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region so far this year, with cumulative precipitation of over 261 mm, causing severe flooding and traffic disruption. Local authorities have mobilized personnel to evacuate trapped residents as quickly as possible. Heavy rainstorms are forecast to lash some parts of Guangxi as well as Guangdong and Hunan provinces in the following days.
