Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won the country's general election, according to preliminary results on Tuesday. The NDA is projected to cross the 272 majority mark in the 543-strong lower house of parliament. However, current trends show the BJP is set to fall short of achieving a single-party majority, contrary to exit poll figures.
