This surprisingly large wardrobe measures 3.14 meters high by 1.56 meters wide. It's one of the several astonishing discoveries that CGTN host Julian Waghann recently made at Beijing Long Shun Cheng Traditional Chinese Furniture Company. With a typical design of phoenixes floating in peony blossoms, some 20 in all, the replica closet mirrors a piece of imperial furniture made of Huanghuali wood, or rosewood, during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911), who ruled from 1661 to 1722. Watch the video to find out more about this notably expensive antique which sold for 98 million yuan (about $13.6 million) at a Beijing-based Poly Auction a few years ago.
