A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Wednesday said China is ready to work with India to push for sound and stable development of bilateral relations in the fundamental interests of the two countries and their peoples.

India's ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has secured the majority of the seats in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of parliament, winning the 2024 Indian general elections.

Congratulating Modi's BJP and his NDA at a regular press briefing, spokesperson Mao Ning said a sound and stable China-India relationship is in the common interest of both sides and is also conducive to peace and development in the region and the world.
