At least nine members of a trekking team have died and three others remain missing due to bad weather in India's Uttarakhand state, local media reported Wednesday citing officials. 

A group of 22 people, including three local guides, have been on a 35-km long trek from Uttarkashi in northern Indian state of Uttarakhand since May 29. They lost their way and got stranded due to bad weather as they approached Sahastratal Alpine Lake on Tuesday.

Ten trekkers have been rescued.
