An explosion at a primary school in southern Myanmar's Tanintharyi Region left one child dead and 23 people injured, Myanmar's State Administration Council said on Tuesday.
The explosion occurred at around 12:40 p.m. in Dawei town in the Tanintharyi Region, according to the council.
While cleaning the campus, students found a bomb left over from a previous terrorist attack and brought it to a teacher. But the bomb dropped and exploded, killing one student and injuring 23 others, including a student's parent.
The injured were sent to local hospitals for medical treatment.
Security forces were carrying out mine clearance on the school campus, the council said.
