China, Ukraine exchange views over Ukraine crisis

Chinese and Ukrainian vice foreign ministers have exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis as well as international and regional issues of common concern, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.

According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry readout, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Ukraine's First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a bilateral consultation between the ministries of foreign affairs of China and Ukraine in Beijing on Wednesday.

Sun stressed that over the past 32 years, since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China-Ukraine relations have continued to develop steadily.

China is willing to work with Ukraine to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, carry forward the fine tradition of mutual respect and sincere treatment and always focus on the fundamental and long-term interests of the two peoples, he told Sybiha.

Calling for the promotion of bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields, Sun also urged efforts to safeguard and develop good relations between China and Ukraine.

Sybiha said the Ukrainian side cherishes the traditional friendship between Ukraine and China and adheres to the one-China principle.

He voiced willingness to further deepen contacts between the two countries at all levels, strengthen cooperation in various fields, and promote the development of bilateral relations to achieve more and better results.
