Over the past several weeks, Israel's offensive in Rafah has caused nearly a million Palestinians to flee the southern Gazan city. Most had already been displaced multiple times during Israel's nearly eight-month war in Gaza.
Muhammad Miqdad, who fled from Rafah to Khan Younis, had no money to buy reinforced steel pipes, so he built a fence for his home with shell casings, trying to reconstruct a house that was destroyed by attacks. "I wanted a stable home. I was tired of being homeless," Mohammed told CGTN. Despite the danger, he decided to stay there.
