Alexander Zverev of Germany beat Alex de Minaur of Australia 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the French Open men's singles quarterfinals at Roland Garros in Paris, France, on Wednesday, advancing to the next stage of the clay-court Grand Slam tournament.

Having secured his 11th straight win, Zverev reached the men's singles semifinals for the fourth consecutive time at Roland Garros. That's the furthest he has gone so far at this tournament. His best showing at a Grand Slam was reaching the final at the U.S. Open in 2020 when he lost to Dominic Thiem of Austria.

"I'm happy to be in another semifinal," Zverev said after the victory. "Hopefully, I can win one."

"Had my chances. Probably should have taken that second set," de Minaur said after putting together his best performance at the French Open. "I left my heart out there. Did everything I could."

Zverev will face Casper Ruud of Norway in the semifinals on Friday. Ruud benefited from the reigning champion Novak Djokovic's withdrawal due to injury from the quarterfinals. Ruud was the tournament's back-to-back runner-up in 2022 and 2023.

The other men's singles semifinal match at Roland Garros will feature Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and Jannik Sinner of Italy. Alcaraz eliminated Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-3, 7-6 (3), 6-4.

"I think it was a really good match. I played great. I think there weren't up and downs in my game. I controlled very well my emotions, myself on the court," Alcaraz said after the win. "I was really calm in the moments I had to be and I'm really happy with the way that I managed everything, the way that I played and to play a semifinal here again in Roland-Garros."

Sinner defeated Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 (3) in their semifinal contest. "A special day for me, my first Roland Garros semifinal, and to reach the ranking of world #1," Sinner posted on X. "Grateful for this moment, something we have worked very hard for, but the work doesn't stop here, forza!!!"
