China's annual national college entrance examination, known as gaokao, started on June 7.

Is there any similar examination around the world? What is the equivalent of gaokao for students in other countries?

Arina, an Armenian student at Ningbo University who spent her middle school years in Russia, talked about Russia's Unified State Exam in this video.

She said the test contents are determined according to the university and the majors students apply for, but Russian language and mathematics are required subjects. Some exams last for around three hours and 55 minutes, she added.

Ahead of the gaokao, Arina sent her best wishes to Chinese students. "Stay calm and focused. Good luck!" she said.
