How Gen Z sees the world: International students' wishes to gaokao candidates

China's annual national college entrance examination, known as gaokao, began on June 7. As one of the most important examinations in Chinese people's lives, many parents and students take it very seriously. So, are there any similar examinations around the world? What is the equivalent of gaokao for students in other countries?

Mustafa Umut Ozbek, a Turkish student at Tsinghua University, discusses the college entrance examination in Türkiye, called YKS. Andres Ospina, a Colombian student at Tsinghua University, talks about the college entrance exam in his country, called Saber 11.
