The 2024 Chinese Dragon Boat Race, Jiangsu Yancheng Station, is held from June 9 to 10 at the Dragon Boat Base in Dayangwan Ecotourism Scenic Area, Yancheng City in east China. The Chinese Dragon Boat Race is one of the premier events in the country, boasting the highest level of competition.

This year's competition includes 100-meter, 200-meter and 500-meter straight line races, as well as a 1,000-meter round-trip race. There are five categories: Professional Men's Group, Professional Women's Group, Elite Open, Youth Men's Group and Youth Women's Group. It is expected that 29 teams comprising nearly 800 dragon boat athletes will participate.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a celebration when people eat rice dumplings (zongzi) and race dragon boats.

All of these activities, such as making an egg stand at noon, were regarded by the ancients as effective ways of preventing disease and evil, while promoting good health and well-being.
