The highest-altitude dragon boat race in China was held in Lhasa City, southwestern Xizang Autonomous Region on Sunday as part of the Dragon Boat Festival celebrations.

Amid the breathtaking scenery of the snow-capped plateau, six dragon boat teams and 20 cattle hide raft teams competed on the Lhasa River, 3,650 meters above sea level, delivering a unique and exhilarating spectacle for onlookers.

Although Xizang is rich in water resources, with numerous rivers and lakes, this was the first time dragon boat and cattle hide raft races were held in the region, and the enthusiasm among the spectators was exceptionally high.
