China's pioneering cylindrical floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility, Haikui No. 1 is nearing completion. On the morning of June 10, all 12 of its mooring cables have been connected in the Liuhua oilfield in the Pearl River Mouth Basin in the South China Sea. According to the plan, "Haikui No. 1" will complete the installation work at sea this afternoon. Capable of crude oil production, storage and export, it is a mainstream production facility for global offshore oil and gas development. Haikui No. 1 marks a breakthrough in China's deep-water, ultra-large offshore oil and gas equipment development.
