Qingtang Village in Linxian County, north China's Shanxi Province, saw soaring sales of zongzi, or glutinous rice dumplings, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Stores in the village have sold hundreds of thousands of hand-made zongzi in the past few days. The peak season started before the Dragon Boat Festival and will continue for about a month after the festival. The industry in the village has an annual output of 150 million yuan, or more than $20 million.
