The South Korean military said it fired warning shots after soldiers from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) briefly crossed the border on Sunday, Yonhap News Agency reported on Tuesday.
"More than 10 North Korean soldiers crossed the Military Demarcation Line within 50 meters in a short period of time, and when we fired warning shots, they immediately went up to the north of the Military Demarcation Line," according to Yonhap, citing an official from the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea.
